Hall Place Gardens

Hall Place is a little north of Bexley (not Bexley Heath) to the east of London.    The gardens are free, there is a large car park, the rail station is not far away, there is small butterfly house, entrance to the hall is £8 and it makes a great day out.  The hall dates back to about 1540 and was built on the site of a manor house built about 1240.  More at The Hall Place Website,  Hall Place Interiors  and  History of Hall Place.

  3. I was almost taken in by the architecture (we just don’t have stuff like that around here), but then I saw the beasts. I don’t think we have stuff like that around here 😉 Reminds me of The Shining.

    • Sorry about that. Try thinking of hot chocolate instead. 😛

      • That shouldn’t be a problem! Our temperatures are dipping near the freezing mark during the days now. Hot beverages are frequently in order 🙂

    • Quite so. It is good day out with the Hall, art gallery, flowers, butterflies, river and wild fowl. I’m glad you enjoyed. 🙂
