Said Alice, at Wisley
The Alice in Wonderland event ends 31st Aug 2015, but in the meantime click on twice to expand, said Alice ~
If you look where Alice looks, then you’ll see what Alice sees. Cats with a cheesy grins, found nesting up in trees.
Said Alice, to a rabbit who was late.
And here’s a snail that’s made of flowers, and a mushroom for my plate,
A pillar with a hookah.
And a Red Queen in a spate,
Then strange tea with the Mad Hatter,
Wouldn’t that be great ?.
Said Alice, who burst into song ~

Not today. Mind you, I’ve got all their greats: The Long and Winding Teapot, Magical Mystery Hat, You Can Drive My Dormouse, Love Love Me Duvet, Polythene Spam, Norwegian Stick, Rubber Stoat, I Want To Hold Your Giblets and many more.

Groan. It was easier hunting the Snark.

Not often I feel nostalgic for the countryside but this is one of those moments. What a magical scene.

They did do well and they held Mad Hatter’s tea parties for the children and a treasure trail. To think, I almost didn’t go. 🙂

Don’t pay any attention to him, I’m not mad, no really. By the way have you got any Garibaldi and have you seen a dormouse with a stolen teapot. 😛

Agreed. Always pleasing to see when people care about what they do and make an effort. 🙂

What a fantastical set-up! It would be so cool to take a child there after reading the story.

Glad you enjoyed. Wisley is overall one of the best places I have visited and there was a Mad Hatters tea party for the kids.
Lewis Carroll wrote the stories for and about a child that he knew, but seemed to have infused them with some adult themes. I wonder if he knew. 🙂 🙂

It’s been ages since I read a Lewis Carroll book – I ought to revisit them someday. Then again, I feel like I ought to join in a mad tea party, too!

Your stater for ten (the spellchecker doesn’t like this at all)
Jabberwocky
By Lewis Carroll
’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”
He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.
’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

I actually have that one memorized – had to perform it for a speech class in high school and it’s stayed in my brain all these years 🙂

I like kids too, but I couldn’t eat a whole one :-D. The dormouse sends his regards (two snores and a squeak) and have you got any honey. 😀
