The Fan Museum at Greenwich
The Fan Museum is at 12 Croom St, Greenwich and, at just £4 entry fee with numerous concessions, is well worth a visit. The museum is thought to be the only museum, dedicated to fans, in the world. There is also a charming Orangery style tea room (you do need to book ahead)

The Orangery Tea Rooms

So beautiful, both the fans and the setting. One odd thing I have found about fans is that you see cheap tourist imitations which, from a distance, attract your eye, but when you get up close, you see them for what they are, which is something completely different from these works of art. I know this can be true of other objects but I find it particularly true for fans.

I collected antique fans for a long time… I love the workmanship almost as much as the stories they each hold.
