The Tower of London – White Tower
Inside the White Tower
The White Tower contains mainly suits of armour and weaponry. In the days of sophisticated construction, a suit of armour could cost as much as a house and was often more of a status symbol than for military purpose. Nevertheless, when in use, a knight and horse in full armour at the gallop would be terrifying and the equivalent of a modern-day tank.
Good post. I think you would want to stand aside if he was charging towards you! I thought most of this stuff has now been moved to Leeds?

Thank you. It is little pricey at £17 per adult but you do get to see the Crown Jewels (no photographing) and other items. More on the Tower to come..

Oh I know, I’ve still got the hoof prints.
I was once at horse show for the big shire horses. A team, pulling a large wagon, came thundering towards the corner where a small crowd stood. We all backed off quite a way. It’s the thundering of the hooves that is scary. That was only four. Imagine a hundred. 🙂
