Flowers at Temple Court
18 pics – To brighten up the winter gloom, a few flowers from the Temple Court gardens, London.
In southern England the kink in the old jet stream has been weaving about all over the place and forecasters have been having a hard time. The other day, thinking it was going to be wet, I took to wearing Wellington boots. The locals were so surprised. It was my own fault, I should have put some cloths on.
The Temple Court Flowers
A big hats off the Temple Court gardeners. There are many flower beds dotted around the place, a very nice little enclosed garden and a beautiful rose garden. They are all in pristine condition and somehow a considerable diversity thrives happily alongside one another.
There will be more from the Temple Court later, in the meantime, here are the flowers photographed in early July of 2014.
The plant (?), in the first picture, ate a corporate banker. I don’t want to say what the second did to a stockbroker. 🙂
This last one is from a small garden adjacent to the Temple Court.
I’ve been saving, what I believe to be, the best flowers until mid February and there will be more about the Temple Court and the Tower of London soon.

These are just gorgeous Graham! My favorites are 2 and 3. The UK has some of the most concentrated pretty flowers in the world and so many dedicated gardeners. Wonderful!

Thank you. I think that the UK has a long tradition of gardening and a lot of knowledge has been passed on. We are very fortunate that way and, of course, it does rain a fair amount. 🙂

It’s a Nikon D3200. They are very cheap just now and can be bought with an extra lens as a package. But, I wouldn’t recommend it. I bought it because of it’s 24Mp capability that would allow me to crop images. Unfortunately that many pixels on a cropped sensor increases the noise a bit so I have to be careful with the ISO levels. This may be why it’s default settings are quite unsharp.
On reflection I would payed a bit more and bought something with an LCD viewfinder and a better depth of field preview.
Still, with a little care over ISO, aperture and shutter speed and a little post-processing it’s not that bad and quite cheap at the present.

You are welcome. Flowers always seem to go down well. In the winter it’s a bit like coming out of a cinema film noir into the daylight. I’m always amazed at how much the camera captures than the eye. Then again, perhaps I need glasses.
P.S. For ages I’ve been jokingly complaining that this keyboard has been causing typo’s. It turns out it really is faulty. aaaaargh 😀 😀

When I was teaching, my classroom keyboard required a hard press on the spacebar and the “E” key to get them to register. Oh the typos. Nice when you can honestly point the finger at someone else 😉
